Graham Chapman is selling off his prized and much –loved collection to raise funds to help support and care for those with cancer.
The model cars, some of which are over 25 years old, have been collected by Graham over the past 10 years, and include matchbox, corgi, dinky and rally cars.
The collection includes some rare models, and an ‘Eddie Stobart’ collection is expected to raise up to £120 alone.
Graham, who underwent an operation for bowel cancer in June 2009 and was one for the first patients to be cared for in the new state-of-the-art £2.3 million Endoscopy Unit, is thankful for the treatment and care he received. He said: “I am very proud of my collection of model cars, but I am delighted to be able to help give something back to the hospital by helping to raise funds.”
“I received excellent care from nurses and doctors, and I am hoping to raise as much money as possible to help in the fight against cancer.”
“I am one of the lucky ones as my cancer was caught early, and I had access to great care.”
Alison Sandaver, Macmillan Unit Manager at Milton Keynes Hospital, said: “We are delighted that Graham is going the extra mile help further improve the care and treatment that we give to patients who have cancer.”
The sale will take place from 9.30am on Friday 6th November at the Trust’s Main Reception.
